Recognizing Prior Learning Program

Recognizing Prior Learning Program

Recognizing prior learning (RPL) is a process that assists a person to gain recognition for their knowledge, skills, and attitudes. If a person can prove they possess certain knowledge and can perform certain skills, then they should not have to repeat the learning.

The RPL Process is designed for individuals with prior/current experience and/or education in the health care system in similar roles to CCA. Individuals with considerable and diverse experience/education in similar role to CCA can be conditionally hired in the role of CCA under the Education Entry to Practice Policy.

RPL Program can assist employers in understanding if a potential employee is eligible for RPL, identify duties that may need additional education or modification, restriction, supervision, building and monitoring the learning plan.
